‘As I watch my friends embrace retirement, I have embarked on a journey into the business world’ she said. Meet the fabulous Ragini Hildreth, who, with an impressive career as teacher, assistant head, governor, and curriculum specialist, decided after fifty to make a bold career switch, give up all the hard-earned stability to launch a business supporting the next generation of teachers improve their wellbeing and build sustainable careers without sacrificing their free time. Don’t miss her words of wisdom on self-care, mindset, and the transferability of skills.

Throughout my career as a primary school teacher, I loved the buzz and rhythm of school life.
I’d work with experts in other disciplines and collaborate with artists, actors and writers to develop stimulating learning experiences for pupils.
And I enjoyed the challenges of becoming an assistant head, a governor and a curriculum specialist.
But there were times when I didn’t know if I could continue teaching, because I was burning out.
Facing the additional responsibilities with each promotion often left me feeling inadequate.
I felt overstretched at home and at work and as if I wasn’t doing a good enough job in either place.
It got to the point where I was on the verge of quitting.
But the turning point was working with a coach who reminded me of the importance of self-care and helped me to regain a vision for my life outside of school.
Following our sessions, I pivoted my career and eventually started a coaching business. Now, the focus of my work is supporting the next generation of teachers improve their wellbeing and build sustainable careers without sacrificing their free time.
So, as I watch my friends embrace retirement, I have embarked on a journey into the business world.
